Biography

Photographer
Dwight K. Phillips has lived in Delta Junction,
Alaska for over a quarter century. His tenure has been spent
mostly in and around the interior of the majestic State. One of Dwight’s first
Alaskan loves was fly-fishing. In his travels
seeking new fishing hotspots in beautiful Alaskan destinations,
the desire was birthed within him to capture Alaska’s beauty
through his digital images. His hope has been to share Alaska’s
pristine, virgin wilderness with people from all over the world
through the sale of his photos and prints. Dwight’s travels have taken him as far north as the villages on the northern most coast of Alaska to the sweeping Yukon River, and then south to capture the magnificent coastal areas of Southeast Alaska with their unique culture, native traditions, and grand landmarks. Dwight’s professionalism and experience add personality and a romantic quality—very often unseen—to the unforgettable images now available in his portfolio. Where temperatures regularly exceed minus 60 degrees F. in the winter and 85 degrees F. In the summer, this photographer’s portfolio changes every day he walks out the door.
As a photographer he
believes photography is in itself a conservation effort, which
allows him to capture a moment in time that has past, which
essentially becomes an historical record. This experience allows
him to portray his emotions and feelings at that moment. In
capturing those feelings, that opportunity allows him to share his
experience with others and in addition to allowing him to relive
the moment. He believes that without a camera one is left
with but a memory, which inevitably fades with time. |
