Katie John Matriarch of Mentasta

Katie John

Katie John is the “Matriarch Athabascan Leader” of the native village of Mentasta Lake Alaska located on the Tok Cutoff Highway approximately 40 miles southwest of the town of Tok Alaska. Exactly half of any proceeds from the purchase of this image will go to Katie John.

What lies at the core of the Katie John case is the right of rural people to take fish in federally reserved navigable waters.
