Chocolate Lily

This vertical image depicts a Chocolate Lilly. This flower occurs in woodlands and meadows in Southeastern Alaska. The immature seeds as well the bulbs are edible raw or cooked. This image was taken in Kodiak Alaska. It has an unpleasant odor and has been nicknamed skunk lily or outhouse lily.
